State Sens. Andy Billig, Lisa Wellman and Claire Wilson visited NEWESD 101 Tuesday for a roundtable discussion with regional superintendents on state funding and other issues.
Billig, 3rd District-Spokane; Wellman, 41st District-Mercer Island; and Wilson, 30th District-Auburn, met with about 30 administrators and then convened a second session with area teachers.
Billig is the Senate Majority Leader. Wellman and Wilson are the chair and vice chair, respectively, of the Senate Early Learning and K-12 Education Committee. This is the second year in a row in which Billig and Wellman have visited NEWESD 101 for summer meetings with local education officials. Their statewide tour will include stops in all nine Washington ESDs.
