Overview
The School Nurse Corps (SNC) began in the 1999-2001 biennium as a statewide program funded by the Legislature to provide limited school nursing services in mostly rural school districts where there was little or no experience with school nursing services.
The SNC program provides school nurse services to school districts and their students through RN consultations, supervision and training of unlicensed school staff.
The program also provides direct services so that students receive the nursing care they need by the appropriate staff in order to experience optimal health, remain safe and in school. In addition, SNC provides educational resources and professional development opportunities for school nurses across the region.
